ImmVirX receives $6.27 million R&D Tax Incentive Cash Offset from ATO

Melbourne, Australia 13 January 2026 – ImmVirX Pty Limited (“ImmVirX”), a clinical-stage life sciences company developing next-generation, receptor-targeted oncolytic RNA immunotherapies to transform outcomes for patients with some of the most prevalent and challenging cancer types, has received a $6,274,594 Research and Development (R&D) Tax Incentive refund from the Australian Taxation Office (ATO). This amount relates to the R&D undertaken by ImmVirX in the financial year ended 30 June 2025.

The Australian Government’s R&D Tax Incentive encourages companies to invest in R&D activities by providing a refundable tax offset on eligible expenditure. ImmVirX’s refund supports its innovative work across clinical and preclinical programs, including its lead investigational product IVX037 and second asset IVX055.

The funding will be applied to accelerate clinical development of IVX037 — currently being evaluated in combination with the immune checkpoint inhibitor, sintilimab (TYVYT®) — and to progress IVX055 toward first-in-human studies in mid-2026.

IVX037 has demonstrated encouraging biological and clinical activity in difficult-to-treat, microsatellite-stable colorectal cancer (MSS-CRC) and ovarian cancer at major scientific meetings.

The ongoing Phase 1 clinical study (Part 1a monotherapy completed; Phase 1b combination underway) is actively recruiting across multiple sites in Australia.

ImmVirX has expanded its collaboration with Innovent Biologics, Inc., extending evaluation of IVX037 combined with TYVYT® to include patients with advanced hepatocellular carcinoma alongside colorectal, ovarian and gastric cancer cohorts.

Dr Malcolm McColl, Managing Director and Acting Chairman of ImmVirX, said “We are proud of the scientific and clinical progress we’ve achieved with a lean operating model and continued financial discipline. The additional support from the Government’s R&D Tax Incentive enhances our ability to fund and expand key clinical programs. Our recent clinical data and global collaborations reinforce our strategy to deliver new therapeutic options for patients with cancers of high unmet need.”

About ImmVirX:

ImmVirX is developing novel oncolytic immunotherapies to create powerful new cancer therapy combinations. Our lead asset, IVX037, is in clinical studies and our second agent, IVX055, is scheduled to enter the clinic in mid-2026. Our novel oncolytic immunotherapy harnesses the power of viruses to preferentially infect and kill cancer cells and induce local and systemic anti-tumor immune responses.

The proprietary bio-selection platform enables the development of RNA viruses targeting specific receptor proteins highly expressed on a range of cancer cell types, allowing them to selectively enter, replicate in, and destroy tumor cells while creating beneficial changes in the tumor micro-environment, potentially leading to the generation of specific innate and adaptive immune responses against cancer cells.

In this way, our oncolytic virotherapy is intended to increase the effectiveness of current immunotherapies, in fighting cancers of high unmet need including colorectal, gastric, ovarian, liver, lung and bile duct cancer.
